Skoda wants to conquer the Indian market with an SUV. The Vision IN study already gives an outlook on what the Czech should look like. The 150 hp 1.5 TSI petrol engine should mark the top engine of the compact SUV. In the summer of 2021, the Skoda Kushaq will roll onto the streets of India, with prices likely to start at around 10,000 to 13,000 euros.

The VW Group is aiming for a market share of five per cent in the Indian market by 2025; Skoda is in charge of the model offensive. The Czech car brand has been working on the new market positioning for a year and a half. The most important milestone was the adaptation of the modular transverse matrix especially for the Indian market (MQB-A0-IN) in order to be prepared for upcoming, stricter safety and emission requirements.

It is clear, however, that other models will follow suit. In addition to the Vision IN, Skoda will also be showing the Karoq as a new model for the Indian market and the recently revamped Skoda Superb.

The new Skoda Kushaq family SUV is based on the Skoda Vision IN. The model based on the MQB is shorter than a Karoq, but should still offer plenty of space.
