The new Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV derived from the current Volvo XC40 arrives this fall. The new SUV will be available only in the electric version and can be purchased exclusively online.

The Volvo C40 Recharge will be manufactured in Belgium, in Ghent, together with the XC40, on the CMA platform. The propulsion consists of two electric motors which offer a power of 420 hp and 660 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes place in 4.9 seconds.

The new Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV receives a battery with a capacity of 78 kWh, which gives it a range of up to 420 kilometres. This could be improved over time through over-the-air software updates. The battery of the new Volvo C40 Recharge can be charged quickly (DC - 150 kW) to 80% in about 40 minutes.

Like the XC40 Recharge, the new Volvo C40 Recharge comes with one of the best infotainment systems on the market, developed jointly with Google and based on the Android operating system. It provides consumers with Google apps and embedded services, such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store.

Volvo Cars wants by 2025, about 50% of its global sales volume to be composed of fully electric cars and 50% of hybrid cars. By 2030, every car he sells will be completely electric. @via Volvo.
