A 1,200-year-old pagan temple dedicated to Thor and Odin was discovered in Norway, a rare relic from the Viking Age, built several centuries before the Christian religion became dominant in this area.

Archaeologists say that the large wooden temple - measuring about 14 meters long, 8 meters wide and up to 12 meters high - dates from the late eighth century and was used to bring sacrifices to the gods, especially during the summer and winter solstices. Although the wooden structure of the building has long been lost, the foundation has been preserved and its shape is distinct.
