Low-cost airline Easyjet has warned that its first annual loss could amount to $ 1.1 billion as it flies at just 25% of planned capacity due to restrictions imposed to stop the spread of the pandemic. In the last 12 months, the number of passengers has decreased by 50% to 48 million, and capacity has decreased by 48% to 55 million seats.
To survive the crisis, Easyjet borrowed $781 million from the government, fired 4,500 employees, sold aircraft and received $545 million from shareholders.
